Even though issue four was just released (and making its way to bike shops across the country now), Brad Hill has made a digital copy of the final issue available online. While it doesn’t compare to actually getting to physically hold the paper in your hands or hang the posters on your wall, you can flip through the pages and zoom in to read some of the articles on your computer here if you can’t wait. If you live somewhere remote or don’t have a strong local bike shop that deals with Ten Pack Distribution, you can still buy a copy for the price of postage in our online store. You can click the image above to take you to the issue or flip through it below.

The fourth and final issue of Union Press is finally complete and now available. Those that aren’t familiar, Union Press is a Canadian BMX newspaper with photos, profiles, stories, and drawings by Brad Hill and Prashant Gopal (myself). After a few hiccups with printing, we’ve finally finished our latest issue, which will also be the last. We’ve put out four issues in the span of two years, and thousands upon thousands of copies in to the hands of riders all over the country. Putting together a paper of this size and scope is not an easy task, but it’s been an incredible learning process the whole time, and a small way to give back to a community and sport that has motivated and inspired us all these years, and all the publications and independent projects that have come before us. While it’s bittersweet to end a print project, shutting it down will allow us to concentrate more energy on our other projects (this website being one of them).

The issue will begin shipping January 2nd, 2014 and be available for free across Canada in better bike shops and is distributed by Ten Pack. Inside you will find a profile on Greg Henry’s Bridgespot, Mike Fiz’s favourite things in Montreal, a joke column from Greg Flag, and a whole lot more from various contributors such as Charlie Coombs, Zach Rampen, Luke Santucci, Charlie Crumlish, Matt Bosco, Riley McMaster, Trent Barker, and Dave Scott. On top of 4 broadsheets full of great photos and content, you’ll also get four fold out posters on the backside from MacNeil, Eclat, BMX Gallery 4130, and BMXFU.

For those that don’t have a reliable bike shop in close distance, or live outside of Canada, you can also order a copy from our online store, which will also come with one of three limited edition stickers. Check out some more photos from some of the spreads below, and look for copies in your local shop soon.

Brad Hill and I just finished issue three of our collaborative BMX newspaper zine Union Press. I can truly say that it’s my favourite issue so far, and I feel like we were able to cover a range of people and topics, while having the most contributors in an issue yet. As always you can get this for FREE from better bike shops across Canada as it is generously supported and distributed by Ten Pack Distribution and 1664 Distribution. If you do not have a local bike shop, or live outside of Canada, you can order a copy for the price of postage here. Check out a list of contents from issue three below and a number of photos from its pages after the jump.

– Dagg’s Kitchen: Cooking tips and a recipe from the mind and kitchen of Nick Dagg
– Team Manager Tales: A story from Harley Haskett about his best trip ever
– Build and Create: An interview with skatepark builder and bike rider Kean Fougere
– A profile of Niagara area flatlander Smoother
– Photos from Jeremy Deme, Charlie Crumlish, Trent Barker, Jason Vawter, Brad Hill, and Prashant Gopal

Union Press issue two is back from the printer, and available now. For those not familiar, Union Press is a free Canadian newsprint zine created by Brad Hill of BMXFU and my ongoing project, Yo Sick. The zine focuses on Canadian BMX with stories, profiles, photos, and illustrations from myself (Prashant Gopal), Brad Hill, Trent Barker, Lee Dennis, Adam Grandmaison, Prasheel Gopal, and more. For issue two we have doubled the page count from 2 to 4 broadsheets, and the reverse side from each page unfolds to reveal full size (23″ X 34″) posters from MacNeil Bikes, Almond Footwear, Sunday Bikes, and Quintin Co. The zine is available for free from bike shops across Canada that have an account with Ten Pack Distribution. If you can’t get it through your local bike shop, or live outside of Canada, you can find it in the Yo Sick online store for the cost of shipping. Check out some more photos of some of the pages below, and get your hands on a copy soon.

Union Press is a collaborative project that has been in the works for the last few months between Brad Hill from BMXFU and my ongoing zine series Yo Sick. I am glad to finally say that the first issue is complete, back from the printers, and ready to see the light of day. Our aim with this publication was to make a tangible extension of our interests with photos, writing and illustrations, and to highlight some interesting characters in Canadian BMX that we have the pleasure of knowing. You can expect a two page broadsheet printed on newsprint, with fold out posters from OSS and Macneil. Inside you will find work from Brad Hill, myself and a list of contributors that includes Mike Cardin, Riley McMaster, Eric Marshall, and Nashville’s Andrew White

You can find copies of it in the new year at bike shops across Canada that deal with Ten Pack Distribution. If you don’t have a local bike shop we will have it in online stores soon for the price of shipping. You can check out some more photos of the pages after the jump and hopefully get a copy in your hands soon.
