A little late, but better late than never. With nearly 3 weeks left of this contest here are some of the 5 clip edits we’ve received so far! If you haven’t filmed yours yet, there’s still lots of time so get to it! If you’re putting the final touches on your edits, remember the deadline is August 31st.

Huge shout out to Atlantis, Etnies, BMX Gallery 4130, Repset, Eclat, Yo Sick, Federal, MacNeil, WETHEPEOPLE, Merritt, The Make, BMXFU and Business bmx for hooking up killer prize packs. There’s legit so much stuff to give a way you’d be crazy not to film one of these!!

Here’s Chase Davidson’s entry which is undoubtedly one of the most creative so far and read on for a bunch more rad entries.


“Living in a mountain village directly in the French Alps definitely limits the spots available and also the amount of riders. Unfortunately, there are no other riders within the area which resulted in getting creative with what I have. I put this together myself using a Soloshot and tripod, all the while having to avoid the crazy mountain weather and heavy work schedule. This was by far the most fun I’ve had making an edit, and couldn’t be happier with the outcome!” Chase Davidson

The contest is happening during Petawawa’s 150th anniversary, located on the grounds with other attractions with projected attendance to be over 10,000 people. Jason Enns has a very interesting article on Dig here . He discusses the work put into finding and riding a bowl, which is truly as much work as being in the streets. He also mentions people growing away from BMX with age and his personal situation where he can never see himself off a bike, which I’m sure many of us can relate to.

“You know how many people I know who stopped being a professional rider, and never touch a bike again? That’s seems insane to me. So you’re mid-twenties with no work history. Now I’m almost forty, an immigrant with no work history; no one is going to hire you. You get hurt a few times, and you question what you are doing it for. If all you’re going to do is end up with nothing, why don’t you do what’s fun?

I’ve come full-circle. You start at a fun level, and then as you graduate to a certain level, some of that gets lost along the way. I feel like I’m back to that position where it’s like, “Fuck it, it’ so fun, I just can’t see myself ever not riding.” When the basis of what you’re doing is fun, it translates to the viewer; people have fun watching it.”

On Sunday August 2nd, Atlantis Vancouver hosted a word of mouth jam in Vancouver. With a bunch of the S&M team in town and Orlando/Atlantis behind the reigns, you already know this was a good ass time. Chuck put this together beautifully, to the point you almost feel like you were there. Which if you weren’t, you will soon wish you had been, hit play.

I think it’s safe to say Ryan Eles has had a big year and is definitely up there with some of Canada’s best right now. Despite some injuries this past Spring, Ryan managed to put together this edit over the course of a few weeks, just before making the move from Markham, back to Sudbury.
