Camilo wasted no time putting together this MTL Jam that went down on Saturday. Lots of good stuff in this (with stand out clips from Dillon Lloyd, Justin Hughes, Ryan Eles, Joel Fortin, Brad Blouin, Keven Rousseau and more), check it.

Check out this promo video for the Real City Spin flatland contest taking place in Montreal at Le Taz on August 30th and 31st. Montreal’s flatland scene has produced some amazing riders that hold their own in the international contest scene in the last number of years, and it’s great to see Jean-William Prevost (Dub) throwing an event like this in his home city and putting a big push on up and coming riders.

This contest will also be the third stop in the Am Flatland Circuit, with categories in novice, veteran, expert, and pro, and they have confirmed riders from Costa Rica, Japan, USA, and France. If flatland is your thing, no matter your skill level, you should be at this event. I think this line from their website summarizes it nicely:

“We are offering a competition to the North Eastern American Flatland scene to stimulate the up and coming riders in setting and achieving their goals by showcasing their tricks at an official Freestyle event.”

A bunch of the Montreal shredders were saying that the Premium team was in town a couple weeks back and here’s proof.

Here are a couple rad photos that MTL photographer Camilo Lapointe-Nascimento shot during the trip. Click here for more pics that Camilo shot during their trip along with a bunch of other gems. Camilo has really been killing it behind the lens as of late.

Lastly, props to the tour guides in cities across Canada who never get the glory, but are a small part of what makes our country as awesome as it is.

I’ve been sitting on these pics for literally forever. Likely a decade old, alot of these pictures represent some of the early MTL BMX scene and include some pretty amazing dudes including Corey Dewey above, with 2 pegs, a brake doing a whip. There’s a few UAB pics in here too for all of us who were fortunate enough to ride at some point.

Some heat out of Montreal from the Imported crew. It’s Quebec in the winter time, so as to be expected it’s all indoor footage from Le Taz, but there’s a big mix of riders in this including: Jordane Dubois, Dillon Lloyd, Justin Hughes, Vlad Poloukhine, Turik Koulaev, Dave Dodier, Max Dumais, Graham Bird, Nick B, Kevin Girard, Carlos, Deleon, Camilo and Joel Marchand.

Earlier this year in the spring Matt Perrin took a ride on a Greyhound bus from Winnipeg to Montreal. Anyone who has ever ridden the bus any distance in this country knows it’s not an easy ride, let alone for 1.5 days of constant travel. To coincide with this new edit (filmed in Winnipeg, Montreal, Brandon, and Kenora) we asked Matt a few questions about both cities, and the good and the bad of traveling across country by bus. Check that out below.

I was searching for an old post on the site recently and stumbled upon this video again after not having seen it since Mike Cardin fist made it. I’ve always loved the mood of this video, and the fact that he shot the whole thing off the cuff from his phone. The caption “it has a credit section feel to it more than anything” sums it up perfectly. With the entire country currently under various states of spring thaw (or some places still buried under deep snow and ice), this might be the pick-me-up you need right now to remind you how great summer is, wherever you are located.

Mike Fiz hooked up this dope article and this one of the infamous Montreal Big-O being relocated. It’s pretty amazing that $63,000 is being spent to relocate the legendary Canadian fullpipe/mini. A ton of respect goes to the Saputo family for respecting this spot and it’s history enough to keep it alive.

Montreal is lucky enough to have two indoor skateparks to help make the winter go by quicker. Here is footage from a couple of those sessions featuring a bunch of Montreal locals.
