The thing I love most about BMX is travelling and meeting new people, but on the other hand it’s always awesome to travel back to my hometown and ride all the old spots with my friends. Most of the original crew has moved away now but there were still a couple fellas left in town and ready for a session. I was able to hit up two parks for two different sessions, the classic Charlottetown park and the new bowl in Summerside.
Riders Include: Fred Rodriquez, Sean Cooke, Ryan Merry and Chris Menzie
“This is Marc St.Hilaire, railride to 180. I took this photo the other day. He is one of those guys whose style comes very naturally. Marc has a construction company that hires a lot of the Winnipeg BMXers, so sometimes he gets too busy to ride, but he is so comfortable on his bike you’d never know it.”
Dave Hawthorne
Trent Barker is the man behind the lens, and here he proves he’s the man in front of the lens. The edit was cut short, and you’ll see why. The last clip caused Trent to get 30 stitches, 20 staples and 2 pins in his foot. Heal up quick Trent and get shredding again soon. Thanks for hooking this up.
We posted a studio tour with painter Pat Krzyzanowski back in February, and now the show he’s been working towards is set for September 9th in New York. If you are anywhere near New York at the time you should make it a point to check out the show. It will be up all month long. You can also check out some of the work on his new site here.
Phil Bartlett hooked up this newf edit of him and his boys back in St. John’s. Put together by Sean Slade. Iphone clips + Gopro clips = Ant Life.
Dillon Lloyd blasting a t-bog on the new 9ft at the Ron Mercer’s Woodyard, the best backyard ramp in Canada without a doubt. Click for full-res.
Our homie Gustav Ekelund hooked up this photo he took of his swag hat at Garibaldi lake, BC last week. This was taken at a 3,000 ft elevation and I couldn’t agree with Gustav more on this: “This is a photo I took on a hike to Garibaldi lake just outside of Whistler. I thought it looked kinda cool, showing how fucking beautiful Canada is.” Thanks for hooking this up Gustav, we probably don’t say this enough but if ever anyone anywhere has anything they want to send in or work on, hit us up @ NorthernEmbassy@gmail.com.
