THE NORTHERN EMBASSY

A quick reminder that the deadline for our contest with Quintin is one month from today. You have until March 1st to email in your submissions to NorthernEmbassy@gmail.com. Below is the Embassy X Quintin prize pack that will be sent to the winner, get on it! Full details are here.

Spotted this yesterday and found it kind of interesting. Who hasn’t thought about riding in their parents basement, garage, pool or even better, living room. Imagine a home built to be ridden, a home built based on a riding setup, inside and outside. Would be pretty ridiculous, probably will never happen but this is still pretty cool.

****UPDATE, thanks to Carey for linking this up, check below for Ruben and other Etnies riders riding this spot****

Classic Chris Silva sequence shot by Colin Field for client 1664 in the past.

Those that pay attention to the minutia of Canadian BMX over the years will be familiar with the work of Colin Field. He’s shot for numerous cycling publications over the years such Pedal, Dandyhorse, Ride UK, Transworld Ride BMX, Chase as well as plenty of other skate, ski, kayak and general outdoorsy magazines and clients (as well as being one of the very few bike riders that got to ride the SBC Media miniramp). He just recently unearthed and blogged about a small handful of BMX photos from the mid 2000’s that were shot in and around Southern Ontario. Click here to check them out, and take a poke around the rest of his site COLINEFIELD.COM while you are at it.

David Hawthorne making your monday alot less mad with this dope picture of Marc St. Hillaire doing a tight wallride.

“Marc St.Hillaire wall ride on a spot just off regent in Winnipeg.  Congrats to Marc & Ashley, just married last week.”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, bmx dvds, and even more so Canadian bmx dvds, need the support from as many riders as possible. With web edits at an all time high, there’s less and less dvds being released and footage is forgotten days after it’s online release. Sour Fever did things right and put in work all summer to make this dvd happen and it was well worth the wait. Read on for a short recap of this dvd and make sure you grab a copy here for only $7!

Spotted a couple random shots of Matt Desson sporting an Embassy hat in this fit edit. Desson was in Mexico for a day with the fit team while he and Jordan Hango we’re visiting Cali these past 2 weeks. you can read more on their trip and see a dope Jason Vawter photo here.

Van Homan, never mad

If this trailer is any indication of how good this DVD is going to be, I can’t wait to see it. Good on these dudes for putting in work, it shows. More news on this to come, but for now check out the Business site here.

“We’ve been filming for this project for quite some time now, and it’s an awesome feeling to start developing our work.

This trailer mainly highlights our most featured riders, but trust me we have a huge amount of footage going into friends’ sections, from almost every rider in Halifax that you can think of.

This is a Halifax scene video, and we’ve put our absolute best effort into including everyone we could. A lot of hard work and good times were put into this project and we’re ecstatic to present to you just a small taste of what you can expect to see in our DVD, premiering early spring.

Stay tuned, and stay busy.”
