To be honest, when I first hit up Wayne about this interview I didn’t know much about him. I knew he killed it on a bike, and everyone who has ever met him had a lot of good things to say. After putting together this interview I completely agree with everything anyone has ever told me about him. From moving away from his small hometown (population 4366), his dirt roots, to reasons he loves being a Canadian and a number of other topics, this interview covers just about it all. Wayne is a true Canadian BMXer/shredder, so read on. Huge thanks goes out to David Hawthorne for shooting these awesome photos.

First and foremost a HUGE thanks to everyone who made or helped in some way make an edit for this contest! We received a bunch of amazing edits which made it really hard for us to decide a winner. We’ve narrowed it down to the top six edits, which will be posted on Monday and the winner will be announced out of the final six. I can honestly say that every single edit we received was awesome in it’s own way. “Every year around 100 riders from across BC gather at Parksville skatepark for the GT jam to remember Justin Gair who died in a drunk driving accident in 2006 (the name GT Jam came from the GT Dyno Justin rode). The jam is on its 7th year, and I’m sure everyone would agree that each year was more awesome than the last. Even though I never had the opportunity to meet Justin it’s a great way to remember someone who was liked by so many. Rest In peace Justin.”
