THE NORTHERN EMBASSY

With all the recap coverage of the Toronto Bike Show this year let’s not forget about the flatland contest. Toronto’s Justin Eastman put together this video to cover the event this year for Alli Sports. I managed to catch a number of different riders’ runs and it was a great turnout of spectators and high level riders. Edmonton’s Percy Marshall put on a mind bending run/performance, and there was heavy international talent competing, but in the end Montreal’s Jean-William ‘Dub’ Provost took first.

Mark Karau (the Curb Wizard) hooked up this dope edit of Ky Brisebois. Ky is a youngin from the Gulf Islands, BC who kills it, all of this was filmed in a single session.

Why not a second edit of Ky in the same post. Filmed and edited by Isaac Cormack.

Greg - curved nun rail
“Greg Henry switch grinding the curved “nun” rail. A few good rail set-ups at this place but you always get bitched at for riding them by a group of nuns. One time one came out and told us she hoped we got hurt to which someone replied “well I hope you go to Hell.” Bet she didn’t sleep easy that night. This photo was shot on some expired film that Mikaël Cardin sent through.” Brad Hill

Our homie Lauri Mettanen showing some Embassy love, all the way over in Finland. That’s a dialed looking seat! Originally an Animal Nigel seat, he glued leather and speaker fabric together to cover the seat then sewed our patch down. Hit up our store to get your hands on one of these patches and make your own custom creation.

New Repset teaser is dope as hell. Super well put together by Beal, including some funny Canadian quotes from that 70’s show and some really dope clips from Winnipeg locals including Matt Perrin, Carl Wood and Wayne Hartman. Wayne’s last few clips are ridiculous, god damn!

Poster-Toronto-BMX-Jam-2

Don’t forget that this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is the 2013 Toronto BMX Jam. Come out to the Better Living Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto this weekend. With a Pro class ranging from Drew Bezanson, Daniel Sandoval, and Josh Perry to local Ontario talent such as Steve Moxley, Mike Gray, and Brandon Webster it should make for an entertaining event. You can find more event info here, and you can catch us around all weekend with hustling zines, patches, and stickers out of a backpack.

Brooks Reynolds is a name that alot of Ontario BMX riders have known for years. As always, I love seeing what riders can accomplish outside of BMX. Brooks is an extremely talented person and he has recently released the amazing short film ‘Footsteps‘, read on for the full film, click here for behind the scenes info and click here to see more of Brooks’ projects.

Dillon Lloyd’s MTL protege Justin Hughes coming through with a bunch of sick shit in the 5 clip edit. The best part about this edit is that it was filmed with 10 minutes of battery life left on the camera, Justin is dialed! Last 2 clips are nuts, courtesy of 514BMX.
