In April, 2010 we posted this editorial on Montreal, and the overall province of Quebec behind years behind all other Canadian provinces skatepark wise. Since then, alot has changed and steps have been made in many areas of the province to have much better parks than in the past. However, Montreal remains problematic with no real outdoor parks. Ask remaining riders of Montreal what the scene is like today and they will say it’s not nearly as big as it should be/ that it is lacking parks in the city.

We are by no means a skateboard site but we are fans of growing scenes and good film work. Dire Skate is an awesome documentary by Dan Mathieu which touches upon the skatepark problems in Montreal, corruption in the city, the moving of the infamous Big-O and more. Click here and give it a watch.

The Cribs dudes are best kind! Every year they take a trip or two and went with Ontario for the latest trip. “Every first week of September the bmx cribs crew hits the road to burn some tires onto a road trip. This years we visit ontatio and pass by gatineau ottawa toronto and st-catherine and then we meet somes bmx fu guys.”

Tristan Sweet filmed a few ridiculous things at Vancouver’s infamous Cambie spot in one session. Put together by Shawn Duffield, the edit has a very one session vibe but with Tristan ridiculous tire ride skills.

Huge thanks to Federal for sponsoring this contest and Canadian BMX. Here’s a few of the items Tristan has won from Federal.

Dubed by some as the canadian Stevie, Graham is a powerhouse of a man who gives us a taste of what he’s capable of in one session at Centerpoint skatepark in Ottawa. Filmed and edited by Jeremy Menduni, there’s not too many dudes out there 450 whippin bank to bank hips.

Graham has won the Eclat prize pack, a huge thanks goes out to Eclat for sponsoring this contest and supporting Canadian bmx!!

Colin Fried submitted two five clip edits and as much as they were both awesome, this one has some serious clips in it (tire ride a kinker!?) Colin won the Atlantis prize pack and also an additional Etnies prize pack!

Huge thanks to Atlantis for sponsoring this contest and supporting Canadian BMX. If you’re anywhere near Vancouver or order stuff online, be sure to hit them up!

Chase Davidson basically took any excuse you could possibly have had to not film a 5 clip edit and ended up with one of if not the most creative edit of the whole contest. Limited spots in the France alps, no one to film him, all of which didn’t even matter because he killed it in this!

Huge thanks to Etnies for sponsoring this contest, Chase will have some new kicks and softgoods heading his way shortly. It should also be mentioned that Etnies was kind enough to hook up an additional two prize packs so a couple lucky dudes will win a brand prize pack and some additional goods from Etnies!
