I’ve known Lee for 10+ years now. We’ve spent countless hours riding, filming, road tripping, and drinking together. The dude’s always down to shred and has been killing it more and more every year. Lee helped me with countless videos when we lived in Sudbury and he’s been quietly stacking himself for years now. With his recent move to Ottawa a couple years ago, I figured it would be the perfect time to close his Sudbury riding chapter and drop this video. Seeing his progression with the tech/manny game was insane and I’m stoked to work on more projects with him now that we’re both living in Ottawa. I hit up Lee with a few questions. Read on to learn more about the video and what’s going on with him. (more…)

If you’ve ever been to a wallride spot in the GTA, odds are that the highest tire marks belong to this dude. Chi’s been killing it forever and continuously pushes himself to learn new tricks and film new parts. The dude’s got a great eye for spots, and a selection of tricks that are completely unique to him. A few weeks ago, with the NE website re-launch on the horizon, I figured it was a perfect opportunity to hit Chijioke up and get the scoop on what he’s been up to. Read on to get caught up with one of Canada’s best…

The Northern Embassy first launched in 2010 as an online platform for Canadian BMX videos, photos, and editorial content. Since then, the website has gone through a variety of phases; there have been highs and lows. With some renewed enthusiasm and fresh ideas, we are hoping to bring back the site and make it better than ever. Welcome to the 2021 re-launch of the Northern Embassy.

To kick things off, we’d like to introduce the admin/contributor team consisting of Joel Fortin, Aaron Gates, Justin Schwanke, Ryan Eles, and Jeremy Deme. Dive in to learn more about the characters behind the site and their plans for showcasing Canadian BMX content from coast to coast.

2020 sucked but Ian Fleming’s Eye Contact did not. Andrew Phillip’s is an absolute madman and Ian put together this part and the entire video incredibly. Were hoping to get a behind the scenes piece with Ian done early 2021, until then watch this section on repeat.

World Deece’s dominance of Illuminati inspired BMX programming continues. This time around, third eye rider, Matt Perrin shows off his grind and bar ting skills on the west coast.

Personally, in my mind the high point of Northern Embassy was the Barcelona trip. I fully see the irony of a Canadian based BMX website highlighting a trip to Europe but keep in mind this trip happened in December which any Canadian BMXer will tell you is the time of year they want to escape to warmer weather/ ride outside daily. Let alone get 11 Canadians to the street mecca that is Barcelona.

The earliest beginnings of this trip started thanks to The Hunt video contest. Early summer 2011, my wife Kristina was heading back to Montreal from Vancouver for the summer, once her spring semester had ended which meant I had room for visitors. The Hunt contest was launched, NE got an invitation and the timing was perfect. Dillon was super into filming for it, so came out and spent the summer. Dill would often come chill at Ten Pack for the day while I worked, browsing Chase, Ride and Dig mags from the crazy Ten Pack magazine library then after work/ on weekends it was on.
