BMX road trips and junk food just seem to go hand in hand. Whether it’s a stop at your favourite burger spot, falafel spot, or just some candy and energy drinks from the corner store, just about everyone has their vice while on the road. Van Homan may have popularized Wawa in Philly, and California might have their In-N-Out Burgers, but what about Canada? Well if you are anywhere near Montreal you have La Belle Province. Famous for their steamed hot dogs and generous servings of poutine. Whenever I am on a trip from Ottawa to Montreal with friends, it is not complete without a stop at La Belle on the return. 8pm or 3am, it doesn’t matter, a stop is made. Obviously not the healthiest of choices, but it’s become so ritualistic that if we do not stop, something feels off. What are some junk food road trip staples you and your friends indulge in around your area or on the road? Let us hear them at NorthernEmbassy@gmail.com.

Matt Desson put in work over the last month or so for this edit, check it out. Desson shreds.

This past Saturday, December 4th, Toronto’s Inner City Circle premiered their new video. After some time since their last release, George Carijutan put a video together with full parts from Chris Silva, Byron Lo, George Carijutan, and Drifter Dave while broken up with a mix part, pools/trails part and a mini garage ramp part. The premiere brought out a diverse crowd with ICC alumni, Mike Wilkinson, Rexdale Jimmy, Mike Heaton, some younger Toronto riders, and even a crew from Niagara Falls. If you want to watch a video that portrays street riding in the city, without over editing and a ‘raw’ look and feel to it, look no further. Not really sure how to get a copy, but they will likely be popping up soon (someone let us know). Click below to see a few more poorly shot photos from the evening.

A game of bike with Luke Santucci VS Jaumell Campbell. “More bail outs than the U.S.” = Best haha

Most people would question why a flatlander would travel to different spots. Aren’t all parking lots the same? Not really, nor is the scene beyond the parking lot. Back in October, Prasheel Gopal traveled from Ottawa to Paris to ride with Matthias Dandois and enter the Urban Vibrations contest in Pessac. After a respectable third place in the master class, he returned to Canadian soil and sent me these camera phone photos. Click below to check them out.
