Fans of Riley McMaster‘s work should be familiar by now of his zine series, No Bummers. He just released the third and final instalment entitled The Ender of The Bender, in a beautiful wooden cover with a hand sewn leather spine and full bleed colour pages. The quality and care that went in to this project elevates this from merely a zine to a collectors piece. The content is focused on photographs from a cross country bike ride followed by a 3 week van trip across the southern United States. Riley explains it best:

NO BUMMERS 3: The Ender of the Bender. The final chapter in the series that has travelled America back and forth over and over. Spanning over 3 months the content reaches the unexpected events and sights that are experienced by a veteran America enthusiast. Riding a bike from one of side of the continent just to hop in a camper van and take an absurdly extended route back home. Tales of Doing The Most//Touririzing//Freedom//Living in a van down by the river//way more cool stuff.

Yesterday we posted up Chris Chitaroni’s Super 8mm film project Landozine – Quit Wasting My Film, we figured what better timing to get the word out there on Chris’ newest film, Landozine X. Landozine X was released a couple weeks ago and features a bunch of Ottawa locals including Rich Redmond, Jordan Guth, Jay Leroux, Tommy Hains, Kyle Lafleur, Chris Bryan, Jeff Bedard, Chris Chitaroni himself and many others. The main feature of the film is sections from all of these guys with footage from the Ottawa/Ontario surroundings, there’s also a lot of bonus features including a 20 minute film from their 2011 Barcelona trip. The Barcelona section was my favorite featuring interviews/insight from the crew on the trip which really makes it interesting along with all riding and obviously killer Barcelona spots. This is an awesome 8mm BMX film that Chris Chitaroni made a few years back and just recently threw online. Featuring mostly Ottawa/Sudbury locals (and some Chris Silva clips).

“Filmed entirely in Super 8mm, this BMX video features footage from all over the world. Shot on a Chinon Super 8mm camera using a variety of Kodak super 8mm stock. One of the more innovative projects I have embarked upon, I still find it extremely entertaining.”

Spotted this one this morning, some 16mm footage from the now plowed Chuck Bones trails in Calgary from years back. Featuring Calgary shredders Devon Rohl and Richard Gallant, 16mm bmx footage is rare but always dope, a soapbox production.

“This is Johnny Stewart, riding one of my favourite spots to shoot photos. This is a big kiln full pipe in Winnipeg. Full pipes can get boring pretty quick, but for half an hour it’s fun, and it’s always a good day when you find a new one. The inside of this thing is all asbestos bricks, and it dusts up as you ride. To get in you have you squeeze your bike through one of the holes in the top. The art on this is phenomenal, if you look closely the square hole says “Drive by Facelifts.” The last time I went to ride this thing some homeless dude had moved in.”

I know I know, we’re a bmx web site not a skateboard website but this is actually pretty cool. I remember seeing this edit from Joe Simon 7 months back and wondering if the Heli Cam would become the next phase in bmx (following the Gopro and Glide Cam phases). So far we it hasn’t been the case but the Quintin edit is the most impressive Heli Cam edit I have seen to date. Also be sure to check out Quintin’s dope spring line here if you haven’t already.
