My two favourite kooks have left this morning for pretty much the ultimate Canadian adventure. Leland Nightingale and Patrick Krzyzanowski are riding their bikes (not their BMX bikes mind you, but their touring bikes) across Canada from Tofino, BC to St. John’s, NL. They will be spending the next 2.5 to 3 months traveling by bike throughout the Canadian wilderness, camping and sleeping in hammocks. They have both been staples of the Toronto BMX scene for a long time, and watching them prepare for a trip of this proportion has been inspiring to say the least. You can follow their adventures on Leland’s blog Had To Move or on Instagram. If you run across this pair on their journey, feel free to offer them a couch or a warm shower.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen footage of Eli Taylor that hasn’t been amazing. The dude kills it. This was filmed at Richmond Green park in about an hour, filmed and edited by Justin Browne.

The-Rise is holding a BMX/MTB street Jam in Montreal Saturday June 9. If your in the area hit this up, meet up spot is the Wallride spot at the Big-O around noon. Spring is in the air, hopefully we’ll be posting up a bunch more of these type of events over the next few months!

If you haven’t seen our Embajada En Barcelona DVD yet you are missing out. Get a copy from your local shop or here. Above is a quick clip of Dillon Lloyd, with a little motivating from the boys, putting on a small demo for some Barcelona locals. Those tranny’s look way better in video than they felt. Also if you haven’t seen the trailer for our DVD yet peep it below.

Last week we announced our Etnies/Timebomb 5 clip contest and we received quite a few emails/questions in regards to the contest, in terms of intro/ music or no music/ filmed in one day or multiple days, extra non riding clips in the edit and so forth. We want the contest to not be restrictive so that you can be more creative, the only thing that is a MUST is 5 riding clips, everything else is completely up to you. Videos will be judged on creativity, originality, riding, spots, filming and editing. The deadline is May 31st so start getting ideas together and get shreddin to win a dope prize pack courtesy of ETNIES/timebomb.

Scott Berwick has been a part of the Chateauguay,QC bmx/party scene for a long ass while (if anyone has ever seen SNUTS he filmed a bunch of Corey Dewey’s part). Scott recently held a photo project where he asked friends to take a picture at exactly 6:30 pm (EST) on Thursday May the 3rd. Scott created the event on facebook 5 days before and he received over 150 photos from people all over. Check it out here and scroll to the right at the bottom of the page to see all the photos he received. Really cool concept and results.

“Over the past 10 years we have been pleasured with such a spot where you can get away with almost anything. The seed was planted and a decade later the trails were fully bloomed. Nobody likes taking their own trails down. Thanks to everyone who made the trek over to be apart of what were once some of the best trails in Canada.”

Patrick Krzyzanowski (who we did a studio tour with before) is one of those people that works really hard at something, can abstain from it for a long period of time, and still retain everything he learned. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I can get him out to ride, but when he does, he hasn’t lost anything. We spent the weekend in the small town of Campbellford, ON, rode their minimal yet fun skatepark, and Pat was able to film a few tricks in no time. Check out this quick 5 trick edit with him (plus a bonus clip), with guests clips from Leland Nightingale and myself (Prashant), filmed on a shaky iPhone.

A few Regina/Saskatoon, SK dudes made the trip to Winnipeg this past weekend and this is the result. Filmed by Braden Burym, featuring Jarek Mus, Colin Lang, Matt Perrin, Wayne Hartman and Steve Kowalsky. Spring is in the air, let the road trips begin.
