Let’s talk about Dave Osato. If there ever was a guy who was ahead of his time, it was Osato. Dave came from a generation of ramp riders with front brakes and full pads, but his influence had much wider scope than that. I’d be willing to bet that most people don’t even think about some of the ways he’s pushed different aspects of riding, so I’ve scoured Youtube for some poorly compressed old footage and compiled a simple list.
I know we have been heavy on the reposting of existing videos lately, but I couldn’t pass this one up. Pete Olson has been developing and refining his own personal style of riding in the parking lots (and basements) of Saskatoon for a long time now, so it’s really great to see him get increasing exposure lately, and now the support of S&M Bikes. This video is full of extremely hard and complicated cross footed and cross armed rolling tricks and pivots that you should watch whether you ride flatland or not. Check it out, and look for more from Pete Olson in the future.
Our friends at 3Ride are having an Instagram contest. All the details are above, and you can view their feed online now, so give them a follow @3ride_bmx.
One time James stated that his goal in BMX is to ride as much like Chris Doyle as possible. That’s pretty great, and James cranks a mean turndown. Also, how awesome are Kush trails?
Typically we try to avoid sponsorship news on here but this is HUGE! Legendary Canadian Sam Lowe has been added to the MacNeil team. Stoked to see what’s in store for 2013 for these guys.
This is Jason Anthony. Jason Teet took his pegs off for a while and gets ridiculous on a bunch of Van setups you’d ride by and probably not think twice about riding. He also discusses his current rig, put together very nicely by Riley McMaster.
We weren’t able to travel to Austin this year’s Texas Toast Jam, but fortunately for us a handful of Canadian flatlanders were. One of which was Trevor Oleniuk who carried a camera around with him to capture the weekend. He sent over a selection of different photos that he recently developed and a few words about his time in Texas so click below to read what he has to say and check it all out.
Our friends over at 514 BMX held a halloween jam a couple weeks back and it looked like a damn good time. Featuring some clips from Diller, Albert, Jordane, Joel Marchand, and more.
