newspaper-crop

While doing some cleaning in our apartment this evening, my roommate stumbled upon this old clipping from Now Newspaper in Toronto from January 2004, written by Colin Field about the now long defunct ICC Warehouse. While being published almost ten years ago, I think the same sentiment and ideology could be said about any indoor ramp setup anywhere in Canada even now. Take a closer look and read it after the link below.

This past weekend I was in a car driving around Montreal when the topic of how good Max Vincent was/is came up. This Federal video from around four years ago is only a short snippet of that, and certainly not comprehensive by any means, but gives a good indication to the diversity of his riding. Max was the inventor of more than a few moves (Luc-e to 270 for one), would fly over to European contests and win best trick or take first place in mini ramp events, bomb scary hand rails, ride box jump shows, drain a pool or ride a pole jam. He’s a good example for riders to not pigeon hole themselves to any one type of riding. Oh yah, let’s not forget about this video too.

Matt Desson has been a part of the Canadian BMX scene for well over a decade. From Street Justice to Notro, Seshin to S&M, Kelowna to Vancouver, and a bunch in between, Desson has been representing Canada the right way for a very long time now. Read on to learn more about this Okanagan raised/part time bowl shredding skateboarder/machinist.

Kerr Bilsland hooked up another beauty, apparently he caught a 4:00am ferry to get on this trip. Gotta do what you gotta do to make a good road trip happen. Featuring Drew Morton, James Dean, Thomas Arden, Kerr Bilsland, and friends along the way. Filmed by Kerr and Drew.

CanYouDigItBMX.com is a rad newer site that is dedicated to trails, they’ve just posted up a photogallery of Kush with a bunch of photos taken by Henry de Salengre. Check it out here and check out their site for a bunch of rad trails related info.

I watched this a while back and thought this is what ‘bike parks’ in Canada should look like, Vanier excluded of course. The park city public jumps have also been getting quite a bit of attention as of late as well, check them out here. If you’re reading this Jay Hoots, step up your game and build parks like these! Or better yet, places looking to build ‘dirt jump parks’ hire Earth Ramp Bike Parks for best results.

Not sure how we missed this one last summer but this will surely get you stoked this summer. Lots of good riding in this one from Kyle Lee, James Van De Kamp, Trevor Angelucci, Emre Ogutcen, and more. Summer is the best, take a trip.
