Once in a while a BMX project drops that really represents what it’s all about. Every ALYK production has been that way and No Days Off is no exception. If you’re a BMXer who likes riding with friends and/or real street riding, you will enjoy this video at a steal of only $5. Download it now, then order your actual copy, then get stoked!

Act Like You Know

FDr-halfpipe-crop

Here’s a random photo from my archives of Brent Smith’s silhouette in front of the dilapidating half pipe at FDR in Philadelphia, PA one morning when we were doing shows in nearby Allentown, during the summer of 2008.

Dan Cox – Tomorrow We Work

With freecoasters almost more common than cassettes these days, there are two coaster pioneers who proved to be years ahead of their time.

Dan Cox still stands out as one of the smoothest coaster riders today (along with the guy below). Dialed riding mixed with awesome filming and good style meant anything you ever saw from Dan Cox was a treat to watch. Today they work, but a little while back Joe released this awesome Dev edit showing everyone the 9-5 club still shred when they have the time to.

Ian Schwartz – Up Up and Away

It’s arguable that Ian Schwartz was a decade ahead of his time. When most were sending themselves down rails, Ian was cruising the streets pegless and backwards. Ian always saw things from a very different angle, a very unique and amazing angle. I remember him halfcabing the super tall flat rail at Metro Jam after a few tries, in between everyone else run for no other reason than he wanted to see if he could get do it. His humble attitude and genuine love for riding always made him super fun to watch ride, BMX misses you Ian.

Been really stoked to see this for a little while now. Jordan Hickey and Ryan Antle killing it in Florida while on 10 day vacation out of Newfoundland. Filmed and edited by Paul Pike. ANTLIFE

Yesterday was Western Canada shredder Isaac Barnes’ birthday. What better way to start your week off than with some classic Isaac shredding and Jethro Tull. HBD homie

Currently Greg Flag is living in the Republic of Estonia with his girlfriend while she is in an artist residency. I found myself revisiting these MacNeil videos of him from 2013. During second half of last year Greg was dealing with some injuries that put him out of the spotlight for a bit, but he did manage to put out these two great web videos, made by our own Zach Rampen. More and more I find that they very accurately encapsulate Greg as a rider and a person. Seldom very serious, and performing interesting riding on difficult setups. Whether it’s a barrier, public sculpture, rail, or doing a stovepipe out of something, Greg makes it look good when he rides it. While he has been posting Estonian spots he comes across on Facebook, and drinking with the local riders of Tallinn, I know he’ll be back on Canadian soil eventually and we’ll get to see more of this brand of riding, but in the meantime watch these videos.

We’ve linked up Ol Dave Scott before but Dave is constantly updating the site with amazing shots (like the one above of Taylor Elvy). Check the site out to see some really good photos of a bunch of Vancouver locals and of course Hango being Hango.
