I met Stephane Sum the other day, and he was mentioning how just earlier in the evening he finished filming for this video. He had a bunch of questions for me about our Hidden Gems contest and said he was going to jump straight in to filming for that now that he accomplished all the things he wanted for this edit. Check out his hard work in this video with some serious kink rail action. Looking forward to what Stephane has next.

We’ve had a lot of people contact us already telling us they are filming for our Hidden Gems contest, and Ricky Kehoe was one of them. He also sent us this video of himself from last summer which left us scratching our heads wondering why we hadn’t seen or posted it before. It’s a great example of a video with it’s own authentic style and creativity, which is what we like to see. Using a Joy Division track didn’t hurt either. We’re looking forward to what Ricky films this year for our contest too, and if you haven’t already, go check out all the rules and info for our Hidden Gems contest, which is open until September 23rd, and you and your filmer/editor could win some amazing prizes.

Summer Contest 2014

It is with great pleasure that we announce our 2014 Summer contest: Canada’s Hidden Gems. There are a ton of shredders in all corners of Canada who are just looking for a project to film for, and this is it. Everyone has that buddy who kills it and has the rattiest bike, this is also for him. School’s out, the weather is perfect, riding season is on, grab a camera or a buddy with one, and start filming the good times. You have two months to put together something you are stoked on and have a chance to win a completely custom new bike, Etnies shoes and more. Your filmer/editor also has the chance to win a Go Pro Hero 3+ silver edition and Etnies shoes. There will also be a bunch of other prizes announced as the deadline gets closer (best trick, most creative, worst bail, etc.). We will be posting updates as the deadline comes closer along with images/details on the custom bike.

The rules are simple: make an edit your stoked on and send it to us by email northernembassy@gmail.com before September 23rd, 2014. The easiest way to send the edit will be by Wetransfer, and we will be hosting all the edits on our Vimeo channel. After September 23rd our prestigious judges ( Jason Enns, Dillon Lloyd, Brandon Webster, and Mike Gray) will chose the winner. As always, we encourage creativity, good times and positive vibes, have fun and let it show throughout the edit. Put in work for the next couple months and have something that you can look back on and be stoked for years to come. Two months goes quick, start now!

Please share this poster on Instragram and Facebook, spread the good word and get stoked to see some great Canadian edits.

A huge thanks goes out to Etnies, We the People, Odyssey, Eclat, MacNeil, Fiend, Merritt, BMX Gallery 4130, Federal, Sunday, Joyride 150, GoPro and Repset for helping make this possible.

***Contest open to Canadian residents only***

Each year, my friends and I pack up a few vehicles and go explore a new part of America. This year, we packed two trucks, two cars and a minivan with 20 people and 19 bikes. The destination was Eastern Oregon, the fourth of July, and the heart of America.

What’s for dinner? Leftovers. But the good kind. When Kyle Lafleur isn’t going hard in the Mac, you can probably assume he’s out riding somewhere in and around the Sudbury, ON region. He has amassed a big collection of leftover footage of himself from as far back as 2011 until today, put it to a Lil’ Wayne song, and uploaded it for the world to see. Check it out.

Brayden Rastad sent over this video he edited with footage of Nathan Pelletier riding Vancouver parks, and some street jibs from this spring/summer. Some good lines and well rounded riding from Nathan. Looking forward to seeing more from him in the future.
