This Ant Life edit came in from Jon Fennelly from St. John’s and it’s a great weekend watch. Featuring all the bys from Newfoundland (Jon Fennelly, Rob Yetman, Patrick Sullivan, Sean Slade, Phil Bartlett, Justin Sullivan, Luke Reid, Blair Pennell, Robert Osmond, and Brandon Hedderson) having some fun. The first half is filmed with a GoPro/iPhone, and the second half with a Canon T3i. Enjoy!
This was taken on a rooftop that’s better than some skateparks. But it’s a pain in the ass to get on. First you have to climb on the first building, then walk across the top wall for eight feet. On the day I shot this the cops came and we all tried to run. As any photographer or filmer can attest, I was the last one out. By the time I ran across the wall to the second building, everyone tossed their bikes and jumped. Jumping off buildings with camera equipment sucks. Anyway, Wayne Hartman spins the bars over one of the big hips, warming up, right before the cops showed up.

I know we have been heavy on the reposting of existing videos lately, but I couldn’t pass this one up. Pete Olson has been developing and refining his own personal style of riding in the parking lots (and basements) of Saskatoon for a long time now, so it’s really great to see him get increasing exposure lately, and now the support of S&M Bikes. This video is full of extremely hard and complicated cross footed and cross armed rolling tricks and pivots that you should watch whether you ride flatland or not. Check it out, and look for more from Pete Olson in the future.
Our friends at 3Ride are having an Instagram contest. All the details are above, and you can view their feed online now, so give them a follow @3ride_bmx.
We weren’t able to travel to Austin this year’s Texas Toast Jam, but fortunately for us a handful of Canadian flatlanders were. One of which was Trevor Oleniuk who carried a camera around with him to capture the weekend. He sent over a selection of different photos that he recently developed and a few words about his time in Texas so click below to read what he has to say and check it all out.
Back in September Sunday Bikes brought Aaron Ross, Alex Magallan, Lee Dennis, Eric Lichtenberger, Garrett Reeves, Jake Seeley and Erik Elstran up to the Toronto area for a week of riding street, skateparks and visiting shops. Check out this video from their time in the north.
Happy Halloween from everyone at Northern Embassy. Art by Marc ‘Hard As Fuck’ Boudreau.
Last weekend MacNeil held a Halloween BBQ Jam at Railside Skatepark in Port Coquitlam, BC. The original date of Saturday got rained out, but the jam was quickly re-scheduled for Sunday. Even though the morning had some gloomy skies, a number of people showed up (some costumed, some not), ate some burgers and hot dogs, rode bikes, then as the sun started to go down had a rail jam for a case of beer. Whole event looked like a good time and brought together riders from all different corners of Vancouver. Marc Boudreau and Jeremy Deme were on hand filming, and edited this video together for them. You can check out some photos from the day on the MacNeil site here.
